The opening of this new route is accompanied by the launch of the 'Your Own Island' campaign , a joint initiative between JetSmart, Decameron Hotels, OxoHotel with the Grand Sirenis San Andrés Hotel and the Government of the San Andrés Archipelago.
The strategy seeks to invite Colombians to rediscover, care for, and embrace San Andrés from an emotional and collective perspective.
“San Andrés represents much more than a place on the map: it's part of our identity as a nation. With this new route from Cali and the Your Own Island campaign, we want to invite Colombians to reconnect with that pride, rediscover the beauty of their island, and become its best ambassadors. This isn't just a commitment to tourism; it's a commitment to sustainable development, territorial integration , and strengthening the sense of belonging to one of the country's most important natural and cultural treasures,” said Mario García, Country Manager of JetSmart in Colombia.

This new operation adds to the existing service from Medellín, which has 12 direct weekly flights, allowing the company to offer a total of 7,812 weekly seats to the island from these two cities.
By October 2025, when all routes are operating at full capacity, the airline plans to reach a 23 percent share of the total service to San Andrés , with the following indicators per route:
- ADZ–BOG: 10 percent of capacity offered
- ADZ–MDE: 46 percent, increasing from 11 to 16 weekly frequencies since October
- ADZ–CLO: 39 percent, increasing from 4 to 7 weekly frequencies also since October
With an occupancy rate projected to exceed 85 percent, the airline is considering expanding its capacity in the short term, depending on market response and the growth of tourism to the island.
Nicolás Gallardo, Governor of the archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina, highlighted the role of tourism as an economic driver for the island , which is why they continue to promote initiatives that help consolidate San Andrés as a leading destination in Colombia.
“ The arrival of JetSmart boosts new routes and destinations, a result of our ongoing efforts with promotional programs at airports, in the media, and through strategic alliances that allow us to showcase the department's natural and cultural wealth.”
Additionally, Luis Hernando Harb Peña, Airport Manager of Gustavo Rojas Pinilla International Airport, emphasized that, “At Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Airport, we are pleased and prepared to welcome the new Cali-San Andrés route . We are confident that this will contribute to the tourism development of the islands by offering new transportation alternatives for all our visitors.”
